Had to share this.

For some reason, the funniest part to me was "22x5=110 HOURS OF ENERGY". I lost it there.

All caps post, in this instance?

This would probably kill you.

I've drank 3 ( 2 an hour before the exam) of those tall ass screw top monsters, during an all nighter for a final back in college, it was pretty horrible

This may have been my cousin.....
Back in the 80s right before I was born, my cousin drove down from Minnesota with
my Aunt and Uncle. He drove overnight to get down here and drank a 6-pack of Jolt Cola during the drive, then proceeded to stay awake for four days straight. Then, when he finally crashed, he slept for four days straight.

I laughed out loud when I read this. Probably a good thing the bathroom at work is empty except for me.

LD50 only means 50% of test subjects die. Estimated LD50 of caffeine is 150-200 milligrams per kilo, and this guy by those numbers would have hit ~65. Big Gulp of 5Hour Energy? Apparently possible.

1. I know exactly what LD50 means.
2. In this case, I don't think the caffeine would kill you, I think it would be the acute renal failure from massive amounts of everything else in their "proprietary blend".

1. I was making a joke about "the test subject", and setting the definition in a way to say "hey, he only *might* have died!". Perhaps I was a little too dry.
2. Or... dehydration related collapse due to pissing out enough to dry out your eyeballs.

Ahh, the college cram food list: 3 Redbulls, a pot of coffee, and a bear claw.

Do you know what LC50 means? If so, our career fields must be very closely aligned.

The "everything else" is sure to have an LD50 even safer than caffeine. It's mainly massive amounts of the various B vitamins, which are harmless.

lol ya that makes more sense honestly

From what I've seen, after a certain point you don't get any more energized, you just feel sick.

Is there caffeine in 5 hour energy? I thought it was just vitamins (a plethora of B Vitamins to be exact)?

Caffeine and vitamins, but not an excess of sugar. Therefore, when they say it doesn't cause a crash, they're talking about not spiking your blood sugar and then sharply running through it all. Caffeine wearing off without other things involved makes for more of a grinding down than a crash - you're not running on a sugar rush then hitting a wall when it's gone, in theory - a quick web search indicates 5HE usually measures around 207-230 milligrams of caffeine or some such.

Still doesn't top the 5 pound sugarless wonder. Had to try and hold back from laughing at HTML/CSS class. ( Go here for full image if expand doesn't show. )
